State Fair

I had a WONDERFUL time entering the fair with my mother this year. We both did well! This is the third time that she and I have won purple ribbons in the same year.

Mom's ribbon is Best of Marmalades for her Citrus Marmalade. My ribbon is Best of Jellies for my Peachey Berry Jelly. It also won a special gift basket and $$ sponsored by Mrs. Wages. Thank you, Mrs. Wages!!

One of my other firsts was for my banana bread! Even though it's not a purple ribbon, it still feels like one since that is such a popular category.

I think I was at the fair a total of 6 days. My daughter milked the cow twice, rode through the bicycle safety course 8 times, and went through the Dept. of Ag. farm (which was totally cute...loved it!) 10 times. And as is tradition, I got my plate full of haystack onion rings! MMMmmmmmm.

Awesome times!

Halloween card

Stamps by Cherie Reve:

I used my Copics to color the girls. I would have liked to have made the right girl's dress in green to match the paper a little better, but I didn't have two shades of green that would be appropriate. I debated whether or not to use Stickles, but I decided to because of the rhinestones. Here's what it looked like before:

So what do you think? Stickles or no Stickles?

Supplies:
- Cardstock and pattern paper
- Little Flower Girls Share Candy stamp by Cherie Reve
- 4 rhinestones
- Stickles: Lime Green, Orange Peel, and Purple
- Sentiment printed from MS Word.

County Fair

Wow this past week has been a super busy one. I baked for two days straight and even stayed up until 5am on Wednesday morning finishing up my entries for the county fair....cookies, breads, jams, jellies, and a pie. Then I turned around and got up at 7am to go enter them. My best results were that I won 1st place on my apple pie...

...and my red raspberry jelly won Grand Champion of all jams and jellies!
